Where would you buy with 700-750k?

Now both working mainly from home so could in theory relocate. Our 700-750k budget is not getting us what we would like in Guildford. Priced out of the old home town.

Wish list: Decent kitchen/diner. Good state schools (especially secondary) within walking distance, parking for 2 cars, medium garden, 3 or 4 bed (if 3 then a small study/home office too), bathroom and at least a downstairs loo (ideally 2nd shower), ideally a utility room. Well presented not a do-er upper. Semi or detached.

Any recommendations of areas to investigate?

Are you 100% sure one of you won’t have to go back into the office. There are plenty of threads where people have been caught out.

That opens up a huge amount of areas! If you might have to commute into London occasionally, this is a good example of what you’d get for your money in Bishops Stortford (Herts):

I’d also look at Hitchin - but you would want to look carefully at secondaries in both as there are single sex schools in both towns if that’s an issue.

On the other side of London, I don’t know the school situation but I’d look at places like Petersfield in Hampshire, Lewes, and maybe areas like Tunbridge Wells (might be grammars there).
