DH has a friend who does property development and we got him in to look at our place with a view to doing a single story extension (new kitchen and bathroom).
He did seem very knowledgable and we both felt confident him and his team would do a good job and stick to timings.
His quote is £50k for the extension structure alone - building and labour. So the kitchen and bathroom fit out aren't included. We're looking at a £70k max budget. Does this sound do-able? Should we try and negotiate down?
I feel like we should get more quotes but then we don't know how reliable other builders would be even if they quoted less.
Any thoughts or advice?
