What's the best way to find a very rural hidden gem?

I'm looking to relocate and can go anywhere in the UK but I'm finding it so hard to discover the type of property I want. I'd love a detached house/cottage somewhere leafy/hilly in an out-of-the-way area. Preferably nestled in a very overgrown garden, with a distance between me & the next house. My principle 'want' in a new place is the outlook, so gardens and view. I can work with any style of building. Old auntie's neglected cottage would be fab. Rightmove doesn't allow you to search by outlook or garden/land. Is there another way to search rather than hiring a location agent?

Could be a winner, although it's a flatter part of Herefordshire.

I love this, and I think you get two buildings! Stunning location and views, Builth Wells.

Loving this thread. I want to move to a village. I’m looking for somewhere with a great community, good transport links and lots going on. Preferably a village shop too. I did want to move somewhere very rural initially, but have changed my mind.
I want lots of walks from the door, birdsong, great neighbours. Please suggest places for me to consider! I’ve been a rightmove addict for years and need to take the plunge!

Hi @TulipPpo I'm a bit late to the party but this is the one I'd buy, would love that sea view! www.rightmove.co.uk/properties/123528725#/?channel=RES_BUY

None of the others have pressed my button, but that one definitely does! It's absolutely gorgeous. When can I move in?!

I know exactly where that is. The countryside is beautiful round there. You would need a 4x4 and you may get snowed in in winter.
