What do I need to do to prepare for building work?

New kitchen and some work to joists involving taking up the floor and taking down the ceiling in kitchen.

What do I need to do to prepare? So far I've got plastic covers for my furniture. House is ultra tidy with space to move furniture around a bit. Garage is empty for first time ever, so builder can use it as workspace. Not planning to move out for duration. What else do I need to do to get ready?

A temporary kitchen in the lounge (table with kettle/ toaster/ microwave/ slow cooker and cups, plates cutlery etc.
A good vacuum, the dust goes everywhere
A huge amount of patience and the knowledge that it will take longer than expected.
A place of refuge that you can escape to.
Plenty of dinner invites from friends and family.
