Do you need an architect to rearrange layout of kitchen, extend into adjacent room, put in skylights and bifold doors or can companies like Howdens, Magnet. etc do this?

We are currently in the middle of a huge project to extend and completely remodel our house. The architect has planned the extension and is overseeing the planning permission and building regulations etc.

But when it comes to the interior, he isn't involved at all. Our builder and bathroom/kitchen planners are helping us to organise/design the space including interior stud walls.

This is the first time I've done this type of work but I can't see that you'd need an architect for what you describe.

We just used an independent kitchen designer. She designed everything, arranged builders, building control, plumbers, electricians and windows. We didn’t do any extension though just moved interior walls and doors and added a new window.
