Help with a Quooker tap - can other Quooker owners share their experiences?

When we had our new kitchen fitted, top of my list of new appliances was a Quooker. We have one that's just boiling water (i.e. not delivering sparkling or filtered tap water).

It was fitted in July/August 2019. Almost two years later - thankfully still under guarantee - we had to have a new one fitted, as the push/twist mechanism failed.

Last Christmas we had an issue with the red light starting to flash - a signal that the tank isn't heating up properly. Pressed the start/stop button on the top and it was fixed. That's happened once since then. But a couple of days ago we had the same issue, only this time pressing the button/leaving it off/turning it off at the plug took more than half a dozen attempts to sort this.

Has this happened to you? Is it 'just one of those things' or is it a sign that it's about to breakdown properly?

TIA.

Sorry OP I’ve never had a Quooker so can’t really help but we’ve been debating it for our new kitchen. I think we’ve decided not to bother because the little office my DP used to work at had one and it kept breaking down.

i’d suggest maybe re-posting in AIBU with a post - lots of people have a Quooker and you might get some answers. Some of the posts here in Property are deathly silent.

Do you have a warranty or servicing contract on your Quooker? I’d definitely get someone out.

We had our Quooker fitted around 4 years ago. Almost immediately the red light started to flash continuously - there was a fault with that batch which Quooker were aware of and when I contacted them they sent out an engineer. Think you need to contact them.

I'm on my second - first house we had the Quooker for 3 years before we moved and this house it's been almost 5 years. No problems with either. We've just got the boiling water tap too.

Agree that it sounds like a fault.

This is not much help - but gives it a bump!

In case you end up needing to buy another.
I've heard good things about Fohen

fohen.co.uk/collections/best-selling-collection

On strength of reviews and a v good sale before Xmas, I've got one. But it's in a box currently as the whole kitchen reno project has currently stalled...

Have you tried a search for previous threads on Quooker?

BIWI · 06/05/2022 17:06

Thanks all.

I haven't done a search @CorsicaDreaming because the new search function is so shocking!

@SpidersAreShitheads I really don't like it when people twist their post/title to fit in with AIBU, so prefer to post in the appropriate topic. Clearly I lose out because no-one replies immediately! But thank you. Not sure about the warranty situation. We had the original one installed over two years ago, but the replacement one about a year ago - hopefully that means we have a new warranty too!

It seems to be working for now, but I think I'll call them anyway.
