Really want white floors as my house is quite small I want to brighten up the place or should I get dark as I heard white is hard to keep clean ?

I have gloss white floors in my kitchen with 2 dogs, 1 cat and 3 adults , not my choice and never again .
They show every bit of dirt , smear and drop of water.
I do have a light wood finish tile in the living room that I absolutely love but I'd never have white again .

Could you go for a cream? Or something with a fleck/marble of some kind? Don't go too dark, it's just as bad as white for showing every speck of dust. I inherited black tiles... and they're an absolute nightmare.

I went for speckled dark grey porcelain floor tiles but whitequartz worktops that bounce lots of light around. And two skylights.
The floor hides all sorts of dirt if I don't have time to mop it. Smile

I have both

White downstairs (which leads to the outdoors) and is in fact where the bedrooms and bathrooms are.

Dark wood upstairs in the kitchen, dining area and hallway.

Both show every speck of dirt, hair and mud. ;)

Although the white is a little marbled so I can ignore it for a while few weeks.

So because they both show everything should I just go for the one I like best which is the white ? I'll buy a robot hoover so maybe it won't be too bad ?

Not sure if you're talking tiles or some type of wood. If tiles, get the one you prefer and the robot - the ones that also lightly mop the floor too.

Dark is definitely not easier to keep clean than white. It shows dust like nobody's business. We bought a house with light upstairs and dark downstairs. Neither are easy. I then bought a slate grey carpet for one flight of stairs and a mid-grey for the other (townhouse) and have mid grey tiles in bathroom. The mid grey carpet and tiles are by far the easiest!

If wood(like) go for a mid colour as the robot cleaner can scratch them. Just a tiny piece of Lego is all it takes...
