Can you use doorknobs on appliances?

Dark cabinets with oak worktops. I like the look of wooden doorknobs to match the oak but don't really like the long handles that you would put on drawers.

Can you put doorknobs on the doors to integrated appliances?

The simple answer is yes. We have. They seem to work fine.

Oh fabulous thank you! Do you have one or two on heavier items? I'm thinking of the dishwasher...

We have one but it turns out you can push the door and it opens automatically - it’s a Bosch dishwasher.

I’ve got a small doorknob on the dishwasher. Was here when I moved in. I’ve had to tighten it once but it works pretty well. Just make sure it’s reasonably high up and central to maximise ‘pull’.

Very reassuring to know that it works ... and that other people have done it so I won't look mad when I tell the builder!
