Hello!

We moved in Friday and have no idea how to operate the heating system. Currently have no heating or hot water. Estate agents contacted the seller but he hasnt replied. There isnt a boiler/radiators, its all vents. Any help appreciated :)

Do you know where the seller has moved too? I'd go round and ask him if I could, that's probably the quickest way.

They really should have left you a pack detailing how everything works

Winterfellismyhome · 01/05/2022 10:00

No unfortunately. He was a landlord and has sold the house after the previous tenants left

Ok the pics aren’t super clear but the one with the dial sets your on and off times.

I grew up in a house with vented heating and the hot water was separate on an immersion tank.

find the hot water tank and there should be an electric switch behind it that you can turn the hot water on with.

it may be that the dials will set the time for the hot water as well as you don’t want to leave an immersion on all the time.

There’s a few you tube vids on how to set the dial timers. There looks to be a switch below as well?

Also might be worth knocking on a neighbour as they may have the same system as you.

Thank you! @Singlebutmarried we have a water tank upstairs but the switch doesnt seem to be doing anything, the light stays off. Ill ask nextdoor

The switch below is timed/off/on all the time

if you google the make and model you should get a manual

Toddlerteaplease · 01/05/2022 10:08

It looks very old. Unlikely to be a manual online!

Justkeeppedaling · 01/05/2022 10:12

If it were me, I'd just push all the buttons and twiddle all the knobs until something happened Grin

Not sure I'd recommend that approach though!
