Victoria Front Door

We have recently moved into a house in SW London. They have put an awful metal door infront of the Victoria front door. We want to try and restore the original door where possible. Has anyone done this who aren’t crazy expensive and would recommend?
thanks

Sounds like they've had issues with burglary in the past? I've heard of metal doors being installed like this after house break-ins. It'd be handy if you could post a pic but I realise you probably can't for privacy reasons. A decent carpenter might be able to help get the old door restored & get some quality locks installed.

Here she is, the large glazing panel in the middle should be split in 2. Any recommendations welcome?

thanks

You might find it easier (and might be cheaper) to go to a reclamation yard and buy a Victorian front door with the features you like. And get a carpenter to hang it and take off the old one. You could try and sell the old one to recoup some of the costs.

You need to find a company that does stained glass and door repairs. I know of one in Manchester. That could be made lovely. It's not cheap though, I had a small door reglazed with stained glass it cost about £250 12 years ago.
