Moving a combi boiler

Hi everyone,

The house I'm in the process of buying has a combi boiler in one of the bedrooms. Relocating it downstairs (I want to create a utility anyway) would make the bedroom change from a tight double to a good double (really poorly boxed in at the moment!)

Are there any drawbacks to a downstairs boiler? I'm worried it would impact the shower pressure, but only based on the only house I stay at regularly with a downstairs boiler has terrible pressure! I've tried googling and not getting very far at all!

Thank you!

Shouldn't be an issue with the pressure but I'm not an expert....what I would do, is that 7 less the boiler is brand new, the costs of moving it I would replace it. I have done recently and file savings have been significant and will mean it is under a 7-10 year warranty

We moved ours - well had a new one put in downstairs. It’s been fine.

Moved our downstairs two years ago and tbh made no difference.

We moved our boiler from the loft to downstairs when we did a loft conversion - no impact on shower pressure. Surely most houses have their boiler in the kitchen?

We've just had a new one fitted and moved it's location from the kitchen to the loft which is loads better. The 30yr old boiler was taking up a bottom corner cupboard which is precious real estate in a kitchen.

It wasn't cheap to have a whole new system but in the loft it's out of the way.

Thank you! Boiler itself is 15, so replacing whilst moving it is definitely the plan!

Loft is already converted, so it will have to go downstairs!
