New Estate Launch

I am looking to buy on a new build estate which has recently launched but in the past 4 weeks since launch only 3 houses out of 60 have been reserved. Wondering if this marks a slow down in the market or can it take months/years for a development to sell out?

Did they launch all 60 houses in one go? They normally release the houses in stages for reservation, and it can take years for a development to be completed. We've had our eye on a new estate in our town and the property type we are interested in won't be released until sometime next year. They started work on the development last March.

Some developers built 5 houses near us. It took 3 years before they were all sold. Depends how good the development is, I guess.

We’re looking at an estate near us and they seem to release the houses in dribs and drabs rather than all at once, so it may just be that only a few houses have been released so far. We’ve also found that you can only reserve if you already have an offer on current house so there could be interest but people are just trying to sell first.

As per the earlier question, did they release all 60 in one go as if so that would be strange bearing in mind they will be released piecemeal (usually in packets of 2-3) as they are completed?

Our development (300-houses) is taking about 5-6 years.
First year is infrastructure & showhouses, then a handful are made available for reserving with a build date of 12-months ahead, from then on there is a slow but steady stream of houses available which gives you time to work out how long you can wait, whereabouts you want to be in the development and the housetype.

Ok I have just had another look and no it seems only 5-6 houses from what i can see. They seemed to say they had a reserve list on the lead up yo the launch.
