Annie Sloan Satin Paint! - Best paint ever

I am painting a changing table for our boy imminently arriving. Happened to pick this up as a fluke as went to get chalk paint (as heard it was child safe quickly) and the shop had a spare tin they had ordered in for someone.

On deliberation in the shop figured a changing table in Satin would be easier than a chalk then waxed or laquered so went ahead and bought it.

My God! It’s the best paint I have ever used. On only one very scrappy prep coat of Zinsser (applied to have a heavy varnish) it has nearly full coverage. Silky smooth, thin enough to get in corners and not drip, thick enough to fill holes and grainy wood work, self levelling, goes on like a dream and can work over for quite a while if needs be. Also easy brush cleaning!

Just had to share with someone how ecstatic I am 😆

It would be interesting to see how durable it is, and its probably the zinsser that has made it work. Chalk paint is imo crap

I 2nd this, Zinsser is f-ing magic in a can. The chalk paint will wear over time but that's what chalk paint is bought for usually.

Annie Sloan colours are lovely though..

Yes I wonder too!

it all seems too good to be true lol 😂

Repaint in an hour so just did another half coat (ie. the bits I missed the first time around) and then going to do a final full coat tomorrow.

I have also barely used any out the tin.

I have a whole stairs to do and if this stuff is durable then I am doing it! Reckon you could do a whole stairs and have some left over.

Do you think it’s worth the gamble?
