What do you provide for workmen?

We bought a fixer upper and have had various bits of work done in the last 6 months. The latest (and most expensive to date) has been replacing all the fences in the garden. The workmen are here again today hopefully finishing.

I have been offering a coffee when they first arrive and generally bring another one out about 11am with a plate of biscuits. I was making bacon sarnies and was going to offer them one but DP said that was weird and that they would have brought their own lunch.

My question is what’s the appropriate level of refreshment to offer tradespeople when they are at your house doing work?

I don’t want to come across as stingy as we like these builders and would like them to do work for us again in the future.

I usually offer a bacon sandwich or a full English when they arrrive, with tea
Then at lunch either a 3 course meal or sushi
At tea time I usually just do a full afternoon tea with pastries etc
And I like to put on an afternoon strip show on a Friday
I offer blow jobs before they leave, just to make sure they come back next day

During extensive renovation that we moved out for, would top up milk and soft drinks every now and then for them (they also brought their own), had a microwave available for them and in the summer, I often brought ice creams and lollies for them when visiting. This was not daily though, just ad hoc.

When living in the house, I offer tea and coffee, usually provide biscuits and any other snacks. These have always been short jobs lasting a day or 2.

I have just taken them all out another drink. Is it weird to tip your builders? These guys worked Good Friday, BH Monday and are here today and it’s been a massive job 🤔

Blimey I hope you are either on very good terms with your neighbours or don't have any close by if they worked the entire Bank Holiday weekend
