Washing Lines...

Is there a law about having a washing line up? We have two rotary ones in our garden and they do not hang over the communal pathway? They are there as that is where the sun is and one has been there for over 30 years...any help would be appreciated 😊

Why are you asking?
Have you had issues with people objecting to them?

AchillesPoirot · 22/04/2022 19:09

What do your deeds or tenancy agreement say?

Are there any local bye laws?

PrettyPinkFlamingo2022 · 30/04/2022 19:15

No bye laws, as long as it is in your garden, and not over hanging neighbouring property

Has someone complained?

If there is a covenant against washing in a communal garden it will be in the terms of your lease.

Who did?

you need to be clearer about the scenario. Is this a communal garden? An allocated section of a communal garden? A private garden with a low or no boundary fence?

It's a private garden, not communal and no fence....the person complaining lives in the same block of flats..
