Hi, so we have a horrible avocado bathroom but we can't afford to fully replace it at the moment.
I want to change the most horrible bits, I'm getting a new toilet seat, taking up the carpet (yes carpet in the bathroom) and putting down some vinyl, and painting some of the orange pine .... I also want to replace these rusty plug holes and flush handle. I don't want to replace the entire waste/trap if that's possible. One of these is in the sink and one of them is in the bath…… Neither have a scroll through the middle, does that mean they are threaded themselves and screw into the waste pipe below? Can I just unscrew them with some special pliers and screw and a new one if I can buy the right size?
Also, does this flush handle look standard and easily replaceable?
We have a friendly and reasonably priced local plumber I'm wondering if it might be easier to just get him to come and do it… But if it's just a case of unscrewing things/swapping and screwing something else in its place, I could probably cope.
