Used an old paint and now wall stinks

I used an old tub of matching paint to top up the grubby hallway in our downstairs hall way y'day and now the hallway absolutely stinks of cat wee (god knows why it had to be cat wee) 😱 Any tips to clear the smell? I was using it just to try and freshen up before we get a decorator in at some point this year to do the whole thing (3 floors), it's backfired somewhat and the paint was VERY old 😂

OMG! We had exactly the same thing happened a few years ago.

Decided to freshen up one of the guest bedrooms with a can of paint we had had for a few years but was almost full, seemed absolutely fine with no strange smells at all.

FF to me painting one wall and the smell was vile! Just as you describe - smells like cat wee.

To cut a long story short, I washed the affected walks down with a sponge and Stardrops mixed with warm water. Left to dry and then just repainted with a new can of paint. Needed about 3 coats to get rid of the smell totally but it did work!

The walls are fine now and the smell has never returned thank goodness.

HTH and good luck!
