What size garden room?

In desperate need of an office, so getting a garden room. We can afford a 10x12 and at a push 10x14. Want it to also be a chill space for son or somewhere to sleep..

Would a 10x12 be enough? If you have a similar sized garden room would you mind sharing pics please?

We have 10 x 14ft and its fine. Has a good size corner sofa in, an accent chair, small desk and chair, TV on wall with unit underneath, bookcase, microwave and tiny fridge in. DH uses it to work from and as a mancave when his friends visit. My two DS (under 10) like to hang out in it too. Will try post pics.

Bump, we're going for 10x14 and would really appreciate any photos as am struggling to visualise the space!

I'll try and upload a couple of the inside tomorrow. This is 14ft wide x 10ft.

Tad messy! It's solely used by DH but great bit of extra space.

When do you start yours and what do you plan to use it for?

It's going to be my office and also a bit of an adult chill space. Got a 7 year old and 16m old so our living room looks like Toys R Us.

The base went down today! Would still be really interested in seeing pics as it looks so small!

How exciting. Pic?
Do you have space to go bigger? You'll be able to get a good size sofa plus desk and chair in. Space for kids to play too..... Even though I know this your adult space!
Hope some others can give pics but I know some other threads show pics so maybe have a look on there.

No, the jump in price to 10 x16 is £3k, just can't afford that!

3k!!!! Yikes. That's a lot.
I reckon you'll love it when it's done.
I'm going to attempt a garage conversion later in the year as a bit of quiet space as my husband uses the garden room. Going to put a desk in, bit of gym equipment, space for storage, extra freezer and some super comfy seating.

That looks lovely @Ribb
You obviously have electric in it, do you heat it? I wonder what the sound proofing is like (for tv/music noise). If I had one, my teen would just move in! I'm sure he'd want to sleep there too, but I suspect there's some law against that.

@Badlifeday
We use a plug in heater which works ok. It is insulated properly though which is good and I'm glad I didn't scrimp on.
Soundproofing wise, I haven't really noticed. I sit in the garden often when the boys are in there watching a movie or my husband is on Teams calls and I don't hear anything.
Every teen that visits us is completely enamoured with it!
Are you considering one.....

@Badlifeday and thanks for the compliment. I do like how it's turned out although I never use it!

@Ribb thank you for the info. I'd like one longer term, need to get dc to move on from wanting a big trampoline in the garden! Yours looks so well finished inside, I thought it would look more "shed like" I suppose.

@Badlifeday It could easily have looked she'd like as I was grappling with a full house reno and a dwindling budget but I was persuaded to do it and I'm really grateful now. Looks better and feels really comfy!
I take the DC to the trampolining park very regularly.......just an idea for you!
