Has anyone recently knocked through a wall between galley kitchen and diner to create a large room and put in a new kitchen (island or l-shaped(?
If so,
What did it cost?

New kitchen units appliances etc, £23k. Went a bi5 mad in howdens. The knock through, the steel was £5k, but it was part of an extension so whole thing a lot more.

Yes we did most if it all ourselves. The wall was non load bearing so we did that ourselves one afternoon. Got a plasterer in to plaster over it £400.

DIY kitchens come as blocks not flat so my Dad easily installed this. Paid about 4k for this. Appliances were 2k. Paint and caulk etc about £200. Then about 700 on tiles for the floor.

Pm if would like pics. We saved a fortune on labour which seems to be where a lot of the cost goes.
