Building a porch - Glasgow

Quite a specific post here...

We recently bought a new house that has absolutely no space for storage. Would love to know if anyone local has had a porch fitted or quoted. Would love to know if it's affordable before committing to the idea 🤞

All depends on what size / type you are looking at.
We have had a couple built for us, both were "proper" structures (ie. Brick, tiled roof, heating, insulated etc) and were therefore perfect for storage of coats, shoes, umbrellas etc and even a chair for sitting on when putting on your shoes.

On the other hand I have seen porches which are nothing more than a glass box little wider than the front door and not much deeper, they act as an airlock and perhaps allow you to remove a wet coat before stepping into the house but little else.

What sort of size are you looking at?

So sorry - I don't seem to have got a notification for your reply!

So size wise, if affordable I would LOVE to go 3m x 1m however, I suspect I am going to be overwhelmed at prices and 3cm x 1cm may be more in our price range 😅

I'm not too fussed about the materials as I'm looking for practicality over cosmetics as this points, though my mother in law has very strong feelings about porches and is convinced we will regret uvpc😬
