The bottom one looks better, but is really uncomfortable if two people use the kitchen at the same time. (I lived for several years with the mirrror image of that identical layout.) The problem is the sink right against the corner, with the stove behind you.

What goes at the end of the left hand run?

on the left hand side wall will be just tall units with shelves like dresser type.
When you said "the problem is the sink right against the corner, with the stove behind you" - is it because of the rotation that you need to o when moving from sink to hob?

The bottom one

The second one so you have more space around the hob.

The bottom one because you need worktop both sides of the hob to place down pans sieves peelings ingredients etc , involved with cooking meals, but the island would look lovely and more sociable , as I see you are having a seating area in it too with either the hob or sink set in it

It's not a problem if you work alone in the kitchen. It is a problem if two or more are working at the same time. With the lower layout you get in each other's way.

On the upper design, instead of cooker complex followed by 3 x 60cm units to the corner, could you have 30cm units framing the cooker complex, followed by 2 x 60cm units to the corner? That would give you the sense of framing a focal point that the lower design has, while still being able to work side-by-side.

It would also give you a bit more space on the left of the cooker, which the lower design lacks.
