Has anyone NOT had a problem with renovation work lately?

Just wondering what it’s like trying to get building work done currently. I’ve heard all the horror stories about price increases and supply shortages. A couple of my friends who are having extensions done are months behind.

Has anyone done any renovation work recently and it not be a complete disaster?

Not an extension, but I've had a full rewire, plastering and a roof repair this year, 3 different companies, all showed up at the right time and did the work no problem. Have carpet fitters booked this week so I hope it continues!

Us! Kitchen extension and some internal remodelling. Managed to find a builder to start within 3 months, has kept to quote except for variations instructed by us and should (just) finish within the expected timeframe. We're in London

Maybe I'm tempting fate here...

We’ve had an awful time (7 months into a 3 month extension) but our neighbours have had no issues. We’ve used a large company, and it’s been a nightmare because there’s no project management. Our neighbours used a father and son and they’ve had a good experience, because their builders coordinate everything.

We have just had a loft conversion, new bathroom and new kitchen done in 12 weeks. We moved out so we weren't in the way and it went very smoothly

We've recently had a downstairs toilet built, it all worked out well with no issues.
