Permitted Development annexe

Looking at buying a house with a 2 bed annexe built by permitted development on the land. It stipulates this is not a separate dwelling. The plan would be to have my parents live there.

Practically, what does this mean exactly and what are the considerations I may not be aware of?

We had an annexe at our last house that was similar. It meant you won't be able to sell off the annexe as a separate, stand-alone dwelling. That hopefully won't be an issue for you.

2 bed annexe must be quite big. How does that work with Permitted development rules? Just musing.

It’s really big I’m not sure but will ask when I view as it would be a distasteful if it wasn’t all above board.

We wouldn’t want to sell but wonder could we rent it out? My parents might not be ready to move in immediately.
