get used to seeing lots of motorbikes squires cafe is just outside the town centre

Strong sense of community, but very rapid growth.

Really well connected - so quick to get to Leeds, York etc.

Village centre has good shops (none vacant), library etc. Eversley Centre has lots going on.

Been here years, never had any issues. It's a lovely town, good schools, good links to Leeds/York and motorways.
Feel free to message if you want to ask anything/ know more

God I miss going to squires on a summer evening

Alas couldn’t afford both kids and motorbikes, turns out its way less hassle to put one of those on eBay compared to the other.

Sherburn in Elmet isn't it? I live in leeds and I've never seen on Elmet.

I'm a Chapel Allerton lass so I wouldn't like it. White working class I think predominantly. Probably a ton of Tory voters. Not my cuppa but it's great we're not all the same.

2isontheway · 04/04/2022 19:54

@Libertybear80 I think the majority of people in Sherburn aren't Tory voters, however the neighbouring villages are full of old wealthy tories for life which unfortunately means we will be stuck with Nigel Adams for the foreseeable!!

GiltEdges · 04/04/2022 20:04

FIL lives a village over from Sherburn in Saxton, which is lovely. From what I’ve seen Sherburn is fine, if a bit rough around the edges.

@Libertybear80 im from Alwoodley and we have been burgled multiple times and suffer antisocial behaviour so i dont think where you live now matters too much 🤣🤦‍♀️

Asking for real life opinions so its not just looking at crime statistics

@Zazzy291121
When the new developments went up there was a
spate of people having their houses broken into to steal car keys- usually for high powered german cars. Touch wood there has been nothing like that for a few years.
There is a fb group Sherburn residents page where people often ask about the area and you'll be able to get a good feel for what it's like.

2isontheway · 04/04/2022 20:21

@Zazzy291121
It's actually Sherburn-in-Elmet residents page

Zazzy291121 · 04/04/2022 21:05

@2isontheway Thankyou so much x
