Recommendation for Independent heating & insulation consultant

We’re extending our house and need to work out how best to retrospectively upgrade our heating & improve insulation etc. (we’re in South England).

Trouble is I’m struggling to find anyone suitable. Some companies only target specific products and I can only find strategic papers on housing stock in general.

You would think given current energy crisis there would be more practical advise out there! Does anyone have any recommendations please?

We've been looking into this and we're thinking about getting the survey done by the company the local council is using for the subsidised/free energy efficiency measures including solar panels, insulation and heat pump. We don't qualify for the subsidised scheme but there's nothing to stop us using them.

No useful advice InDIYhell but I have also been looking for an expert or surveyor who specialises in this area. I am thinking about having external insulation installed but no idea if its recommended for my property type. I did find a national website that has local social enterprise type specialists I will try to find it for you. I linked to it from a brighton project website.

Thanks for responding, it’s good to hear I’m not the only one with a conundrum. I haven’t checked if our local council can offer help so that’s a great idea. . I’m also thinking about external insulation but not sure what the impact is re. brick type & ventilation etc.
