Hand over keys on Monday - anything else to do?

Fingers crossed, all going to plan we hand over keys on Monday ๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ

Weโ€™re already out and in a rental while we look for somewhere to buy ๐Ÿ˜Š we bought this house as a bit of a wreck as FTBs so this is our first sale and I have no idea what is expected!
Is there anything else I should do for the buyers before we hand over keys? Iโ€™ve:

  • made sure everything is clear - attic, shed, eaves etc too.
  • cleaned the place top to bottom
  • carpets have been done with the Vax (not professionally cleaned though - should they be? ๐Ÿค”)
  • left a folder of โ€œstuffโ€ - instructions for integrated appliances/security alarm etc, contact details for window cleaner, chimney sweep etc, some local takeaway menus
  • left a small gift and a card
  • left all wheelie bins empty and left note of collection schedule

Garden in same condition as viewing?
Otherwise, sounds great.

Read the gas/electricity meters
Let the Council know that you are moving out on that day (Council Tax)
Change address on TV licence (you may have done this when you moved into rental), also if the landline/broadband needs moving or cancelling this is the time to do it.

Good luck, hope it all goes to plan Flowers

Sounds like you've done more than most people do even they sell tbh!

We're moving soon, I'm going to be doing a clean as the movers finish with each room, leave a folder of paperwork, all the doors keys, and that's about it. We won't be able to leave our bins completely empty as some only get picked up monthly, but I'm doing my best not to leave them full of crap. Our buyers have been a pain in the arse so I'm being PA and not leaving them a bottle of prosecco as I've done in the past.

That'll show them, hmmmmph!!!

@MrsSkylerWhite Garden is in the same condition ๐Ÿ˜Š

@ChicCroissant Broadband/TV etc is all moved and weโ€™ve sorted the council tax ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป Have put a reminder in my phone to go and take a meter reading before we hand in the keys ๐Ÿ˜Š Thank you! Itโ€™s all very nerve wracking ๐Ÿคฃ

@TheLovleyChebbyMcGee Sorry youโ€™ve got PITA buyers ๐Ÿ˜ฌ๐Ÿ‘Ž๐Ÿผ Youโ€™re right, that will show them ๐Ÿคฃ Iโ€™ve gone for nice chocolates and a candle instead of fizz as our buyer is pregnant ๐Ÿ˜Š and if theyโ€™re not chocolate and candle people then Iโ€™m sure they can regift them ๐Ÿ˜Š Ours have been (so far anyway!) absolutely great. Havenโ€™t dragged their feet at all. Took a slightly lower offer from a chain free buyer for theirs to minimise the chance of any issues (hopefully!)๐Ÿคž๐Ÿผ
Iโ€™m only managing to leave our bins empty as there is a recycling centre a 5 min detour off the road between our house and our rental ๐Ÿคฃ so anytime Iโ€™ve been in doing stuff Iโ€™ve paid them a wee visit on the way back ๐Ÿคฃ

@TheLovleyChebbyMcGee Aww thatโ€™s kind of you to say, thank you ๐Ÿ˜Š We brought our first baby home to this house itโ€™s been a lovely first family home so it feels right to be passing it on to them to start their family in ๐Ÿ˜Š
