Wheathampstead -weird question!?!

We're looking at areas to move within striking distance of school in Welwyn.

A lovely has come on in Wheathampstead - can anyone who knows the area let me know if there's a nice place/cafe to work in the village with Wi-Fi and a friendly vibe?

Realise its a strange priority, but as I WFH this a big consideration for me Smile

I don’t live there but I do go there every week to attend a club. I LOVE Wheaty! It’s a big enough village to have bars and restaurants, but small enough to have a village community feel. On the edge of Heartwood Forest and loads of countryside. It’s got shops and cafes and nice infant school.
Only issue used to be secondary catchment, but that’s sorted with KWS just opening - check council site if needed

Just realised you’re sorted for school.

@Dindundundundeeer that's really reassuring thanks, and I love that you call it Wheathy!!

The cafe that comes to mind is the Brewhouse. I love Wheathamstead too (though don’t live there). It hasn’t got a huge number of cafes being a village but I would think that one is a possibility

There's a new community library open 3-6pm every day with free WiFi

If you don't mind a short drive ,there are some not-too-corporate coworking spaces in St Albans (Bubblehub) and Harpenden (The Harpenden Collective) - and some corporate ones too (Regus).

There are a couple of other cafes (Loafing, Charlies) and also a cute pub called The Reading Room which looks perfect for working in - but I don't know if they do free wi fi.

I am pretty sure you can work from the Brewhouse Cafe. They do amazing cakes too.

We love Wheaty.
