Our water is horrendously hard (South London) - and I've finally decided to bite the bullet and get a water softener.
There seem to be a range of specialist "supply and fit" firms but it's a bit difficult to see past the very shiny websites full of promises and I don't have any personal recommendations.
Tempted to get a decent stand-alone softener from Screwfix or wherever and get a general plumber to install but I'm not sure whether that would be a mistake.
If you have one, what did you do?
