Noisy neighbour!!

Dd has finally moved into her new terraced house, very elderly neighbours each side. 1 side the old lady plays lbc news in her bedroom from about 9pm all through the night and turns it off after she gets up.
How would you approach this with said neighbour? She seems frosty at the best of times.
You can hear almost every word from the radio and all the walls has soundboard applied before plastering

Chances are that she's deaf. My Mum had an elderly lady next door who'd often fall asleep with the TV booming, and then she had carers going in at 7am who'd thankfully turn it down again. Mum ended up having to leave a fan running all night so her hearing tuned into that instead of the TV.

Not really sure you can acheive much in a situation like this............

I would start off being very, very nice. Kill her with kindness. Go round with cake and explain the situation, invite her round to listen to the radio through the wall. Your daughter needs to be objective and kind and not respond to the frostiness!

If this doesn't work call the council.noise abatement team who should measure the sound levels.
