Knocking internal wall down - leasehold

We bought a leasehold house 5 months ago. Lease has over 900 years left, landlord is 'missing' and we have an indemnity in place if they ever reappeared and wanted the backlog of annual rent (£7 pa) but they are long dead.

In the lease it says to seek permission before making alterations to the plan. Obviously we can't ask permission, but I so desperately want to knock our kitchen through to the dining room.

We plan to live here for a very long time and once we are able to will apply to claim the freehold through the courts.

Is it a big no no for us to knock through before doing this?
