I am pondering moving to this part of the country, I want access to countryside, but also to larger town facilities so I don't want to go too remote. Looking on Rightmove it seems to be quite an affordable area.

So, can anyone give any recommendations of nice places around heer or towards Shrewsbury? And places to avoid? Schools aren't an issue.

Good access for dog or human walks next to Cannock chase. No town centre to speak of - pretty poor really for shooing but good easy access to other places close by - Lichfield and Telford both for a day of shopping. Don't think there's any terrible areas although Baswich and weeping cross areas seem to be the nicest I would say . Maybe avoid Silkmore and Highfields although neither are terrible. Lots of traffic lights around but on the whole not a bad place to live I would say. Hope that helps - ask me any questions if you think of any I'm happy to help if I can Smile

I would advise taking a weekend to come and see the area, you will fall in love with it.

The outskirts of the larger towns can be quite nice if you want very quick access to the countryside. Smaller towns like Market Drayton have some really great houses for quite modest prices.

Then there are the chocolate box small towns and villages which are at a premium but really pretty.

What's your budget?
