Rental Properties

I'm about to start looking at rental properties. What is the correct terminology for when you see one you'd like to proceed with? Do you make an "offer" or an application?
And if the property is advertised for say £1600pcm, is it acceptable to make an offer for say £1500pcm?

You can try but unless the market is flooded with rentals then a landlord would be unlikely to accept.
