I’m due to have a loft conversion in May, and have to get both sets of neighbours to sign party wall and some other document the builders need.
One side are a middle aged couple, the other side is a HMO with 4 people living there, the landlord lives nearby.
I have got the signed docs back from the couple but not the landlord. I emailed him to ask his address and said why, that I was going to be posting out the docs with an SAE to return and could he please let me know if he had any questions etc. He replied with his address and I posted the docs.
This was back in January, and I have sent several follow up emails but he has not sent back the docs or responded to any emails.
Would I be unreasonable to knock on his door one evening with a copy? I don’t have his number unfortunately, although I suppose I could ask one of the tenants next door for it.
Both neighbouring houses happen to have full dormer loft conversions already, so it’s a bit twattish of them to object to mine imo.
The landlords one actually encroaches a good 12” at least onto my property, not that I’d bother making a fuss about it but still, it’s kind of a pisstake.
Builder says if they don’t respond I will need to appoint a Surveyor to award a Party Wall Award which will come at additional cost to me. The fucking quote has gone up by £4k as it is due to materials etc so I could do without this as well!
