Help to buy equity loan

Has anyone used the help to buy equity loan ? And if so did you apply for the loan yourself or through a financial advisor ... I'm attempting to do it myself but don't want to start if it's going to be incredibly complicated.

I bought a new build using a HTB loan and just went with the mortgage advisor the developer recommended (think they were called the New Homes Group). Only certain lenders will grant mortgages when you have one of these loans, I had already lined up HSBC on a great % rate but ended up having to go with Virgin Money on a higher one. There is lots to consider when using a HTB loan so I would say use an advisor if possible to make sure you fully understand everything.

We used London and Country as our Mortgage Advisor and they did it all for us, saved a lot of stress as there were a few back and forths with the forms.

We used the New Homes Group when we bought our new build 5 years ago. They were brilliant. Takes a lot of the stress out of it for you.

Used it this year to get on the property ladder and its been perfect for us. We know what we've signed up to and without it we would not be homeowners.
We did it through our mortgage brokers, just because they did all the paperwork for us and we had no faff or stress from it. Applied on the Tuesday and had the ATP by the following Monday. Would 100% recommend getting your broker/advisor to do it for you if you can x

We bought our house with HTB through mortgage advisor that the builders/company recommended. Was pretty straightforward and helped us get on the market. We’re currently in the process of selling this house and redeeming the HTB - this is not so easy!!
