Paint colour to go with Emerald Green curtains

I am really bad at choosing paint colours and have a tendancy just to paint everything white. We have just had our living room / dinning room replastered and need to have them painted. I have fallen in love with these curtains from Dunelm Mill but have no idea what colour to paint the walls to go with them. Do any wise mumsnetters have any suggestions?

looks like old gold and dark green to me.
but either way, what about magnolia.
or a kind of cream tint.

Those curtains are beautiful! I've got some blinds with a very deep red and the walls are farrow and ball Oxford stone, not too dissimilar to the colour redpinkrose has suggested. A warm taupe.

My dad is a painter - his advice is paint steps of lining paper with your paint samples so you can move them around the room (blue tac) and see what the paint looks like at different times of the day on different walls, and you don't have to worry about painting over the swatches- always flashes though
