Air source heat pump or other

We are buying a 1930s house by the sea which needs complete renovation.
It does have cavity wall and roof insulation but no heating what so ever.
We have to lift the floorboards to insulate so will be putting underfloor heating in downstairs probably radiators upstairs.
Do we go oil and wait for ashp’s to improve; ashp or PV possibly with night storage but charge during the day?
Does anyone have experience of installing any of the above in a similar era property?

I’d go oil but insulate and stick larger radiators or underfloor circulators in in case heat pumps become more cost effective in the coming years so it’s easier to switch if need be.

I'd go oil now but make sure all systems are designed/prepped so that a heat pump can be relatively easily retrofit, and look into ASHP when it's economical to do so (guess circa 7 years time)

Have you looked at wood pellets boilers? I only heard of them recently but they look like they may be a good alternative to oil possibly?

I had wondered about oil prepping for ashp in the future, thank you!
All the advice I’ve had about biomass is don’t do it, I understand all British manufacturers have stopped making them! Getting the fuel can be an issue and is not such good value now the rhi has stopped……only what I’m told!

I think you might as well do it properly when you renovate, otherwise you'd need to have another load of disruption? We have an ASHP, they've improved loads recently eg more efficient and quieter.

Mrsjasmin, which ashp did you get and what was the cost?
