Ours is three weeks later than our original planned date and I’m going bananas!

It could be months to evict tenants.
There’s a real lack of rental properties around at the moment so tenants might have nowhere to go.

Was supposed to exchange last Friday. Complete next Friday. My buyers informed me 4 days before exchange that they had lost their buyers. They claim to have found others but have yet to provide proof of that.

Needless to say we need to now wait for them or put the house on the market all while I live in a basically empty house since I have sold or given away a lot of furniture as I'm downsizing.

I alternate between fury and despair.

I mean, anyone can lose their buyer. It happens. But why not just tell us? And why so cloak and dagger about the new buyers?

DS conveyancer just realised that she's had the searches from the housing association from the start 🙄 Still no report, and DS was supposed to exchange 17th. Shit show. So guess who is going to be chasing this up today.

We accepted an offer on our house in December and the buyers said they wanted a speedy completion and would like to be in by February. Fast (slow) forward the survey was only done on Wednesday & the agenst says that searches are taking an incredibly long time in our area and won't be completed until April 12!!!!! I feel like we are living in limbo. We bought the house that we're moving to in November last year, it's 250 miles away. We're all ready to move except for the actual packing. The removal firm have been really helpful after we'd booked them for February and then had to cancel. Our buyers are FTB I think, they've got nothing to sell. Our solicitor up until now hasn't been able to get any sort of sensible reply from theirs.

I don't know what to do now except to just wait.

So after some delays at the point of exchange.... We have finally exchanged contracts!!! Yay!! We complete next week so I can now relax before the next whirlwind of activity. Phew what a roller coaster. 😱

I'm also early in the process, looking for conveyancing and agent etc. I wish i could find some company that makes all the pain go away for a fee. I'll happily pay. 4-6 months of phone calls, work interruptions, unending documents, anxiety etc. is a lot of cost to own a property.
