I’m starting to get a feeling they’ll either pull out last minute, or try a stunt like demand a last minute reduction, which we won’t entertain (market here buoyant, our house is attractive and will sell quickly). What do we do?
The long(er) story - sold quickly early Jan to an over-asking offer. Buyers are not FTB. Their survey brought up a few minor issues that we addressed/are addressing. One issue (there’s no issue, just surveyor’s ignorance re installation), their surveyor recommended them getting someone to inspect. We helpfully suggested someone, sent details etc but they said they don’t think the should pay. That’s the norm isn’t it? It’s their survey, not ours. Just like we’re paying for further inspection of an issue on the house I’m buying. Now they said to the EA that they’re worried about X - something that’s not been mentioned in the survey, or at least they’ve not shared this info.
I just feel it in my bones that they’re up to something. Do we wait and see what they do? We’re not in a huge rush, our seller has been struggling to buy despite offering well over asking on properties.
