When will we find out completion time?

Hi
We are completing on Wednesday (finally!). We are trying to organise moving times etc. - when can we expect to find out when we will get the keys and complete on the Wednesday? The estate agent has been a bit vague. It's a short chain - we are FTB and the seller is not in a chain.

The legal time will be in the contract you signed. It's usually early afternoon. The reality might be different. I have spent hours sitting on driveways on moving day waiting for the vendors to bugger off.

They may give a rough time - say between 11-1 - but in practice this can vary and they just call you when it's done & you can collect the keys. You'd be better off asking the solicitor what time they are aiming for.
We got our keys directly from the vendor both times (we lived locally), but the estate agent collected keys for our buyer.

You’ll find out on Wednesday when it happens. Be ready to be out asap then you may need to wait.

We had to be out by 11am and then our sellers had to be out by 1pm.....however, we were done and out on time but it was nearly 3pm by the time we could collect the keys. Thats was the longest 4 hours ever 😫. Youre nearly there OP, this is the last hurdle!

If you’re FTB then the pressure on you to be out is presumably not there - you’re either in rental or living with family/friends?

I’d work on the basis that you’ll have keys by 1pm.
