Ballpark for fitted wardrobes

We’re moving from a one bed with a huge built in wardrobe to a three bed with none. We’ll have to buy quite a bit of furniture so can’t afford anything to be super splurgy. I’m really put off by how ugly most affordable wardrobes are and how inefficient they are with space.

Can anyone give me a ballpark for how much it might cost to get a 2-3m, floor to ceiling fitted wardrobe installed?

I looked at the fitted furniture in John Lewis yesterday and it was extortionate.

I was quoted 13k by Sharpes for three two 2-3m, 1 smaller fitted wardrobe, custom bedside tables & a bunch of custom furniture (worked out 2k per wardrobe). But they didn’t offer panelling inside so if you do get damp or a leak your clothes can get ruined.

Just buy PAX wardrobes from IKEA and get a local joined to 'fit' them in. Will cost you about £2k.

Stick to the more traditional doors. You can even paint them though if you want something to fit in with your colour scheme. Ask around on FB for recommendations of joiners who do this. There's loads round here doing that and panelling!

Ikea is often recommended on here, worth a look.

I looked at Sharps and others. Decided they were both very expensive and didnt offer what i wanted.

In the end, had mine done by a local tradesman. Oak and oak veneer, about £1.5k i think.

For that size ours were four grand from hammonds.

The cheapest I think is ikea and find someone to fit them.

I think the Pax hack might be exactly what I’m looking for.

The IKEA wardrobes are lovely.
