So big house reno ongoing. House is brick currently. In our original 'concept' we planned to render the house in off white with sections clad in redwood cedar/golden oak to be in a sympathetic style to the existing houses in the area which are 1970's weatherboard clad and really ugly. All Reno's being done under PD so not had to go for planning architect won't give us a straight answer as to whether we are able to render it. He says it's a grey area and depends on interpretation of the guidelines. Reading between the lines he was saying that most people just do it without permission. Anyone done it?? Any issues? Obviously don't want to do it and then be forced to take it all down.
