Smart meter not giving KWH number -

Who do I contact? I've contacted my supplier but they have been useless and not come back to me. I've been contacting them periodically over the last month and got nowhere. Can I contact anyone else? The smart meter is probably 5 years old and was installed by a different energy supplier than my current provider.

I want to be able to update my reading with my supplier. The meter isn't compatable with there systems hence why I need to read the KWH figure andd report to them.

What should I do?

Can you read the ordinary meter?

PureBlackVoid · 02/03/2022 16:10

Do you mean it’s not displaying it when you press the keypad, to get to the readings?

@PureBlackVoid Correct the meter directly attached to the electricity supply is not giving any figures that show KWH. I'm not talking about the display in the house that shows when you are using excessive energy.
@merryhouse no as above, when I press the A or the B buttons I go through the cycle and there is no screen showing KWH, some screens are blanked out..... I think it might be broken or have some technical issue.
I have a video of me going through the pages that are displayed but it won't let me upload them here.

Mine is also one of the older smart meters and I have to press 6 on the keypad (this is for economy 7, press 9 for normal until you get to the IMP readings)

For econ 7, its the numbers after IMP R01 for the off peak hours and IMPR02 for day readings.

If you’re on a normal rate it should just display IMP KWH and the reading

mine is like this photo and I have follow all the instructions online on how to get the reading and been through it with our energy supplier and can't get a KWH figure. The energy supplier said they were asking their technical specialists but then I get no response despite following up a number of times.

Who can I contact to get it fixed? Or replaced?

Oh that’s completely different, what a pain.

I think your supplier remains responsible I’m afraid, but there is some info on citizens advice about meter faults. I’m not sure if it would apply to your situation, as it doesn’t specifically mention readings not displayed but it’s worth a go referring to it when you contact them again? Perhaps raise a written complaint and copy the text from CA that they have to get back to you within 5 days etc
