Rightmove house with a tortoise room!

We're thinking of moving to this area and saw this house. It seems to have reasonably sized rooms but one bedroom seems to be a tortoise room. I'm torn between what a lovely idea and WTF.

Will the floor be soaked in tortoise pee? Is there visible mould in the tortoise room or just an unfortunate shadow? Anyway, thought someone might like a look at it, otherwise perfectly normal house.

I must admit I don't think I'd be remotely bothered at the prospect of a house which houses tortoises. Dogs and cats are must more disgusting creatures in comparison in terms of what they do to a house.

If you like the house, buy it. Other houses may have a much worse problem than what is essentially likely to be mainly cosmetic if it is an issue caused solely by tortoises.

I don't think I could buy a house where someone kept big spiders though...

Promise there was one there, it wasn't just a fever dream.

The tortoise room wouldn't put me off but the visible mould did, I can't cope with another mould issue/ possible holey roof.

It was a different picture 16. It had pink wallpaper iirc with a shelving unit to the right of the picture. And there was most certainly a tortoise.

If you like the house, I’m sure surveyors would pick up on any mould /damp issues. There could be hidden problems with any house.

Tortoises are quite valuable so I think it's sensible of them to have removed the picture - they don't want to attract opportunist thieves. Hopefully he's microchipped so couldn't legitimately be sold on.

I'm disappointed that I missed the tortoise room pictures...

To be honest from the copious amounts of cat food in the kitchen I would be more concerned about the possibility of cat smell than tortoise.

The whole house could do with an update/overhaul really so previous room use not necessarily an issue - you definitely live in a pricer part of the country to me though OP!

Does anyone else think this is starting to sound like a Jonathan Creek mystery - 'The Tortoise Room' - the case of a room and a tortoise that mysteriously vanished.

It's a lot of money for a very old fashioned house. The fire place and sliding doors! I'm amazed they think it will sell for that sort of money (can you tell houses are cheaper where I live?).
