We live in a 3 bed property with a modest size garden..we desperately need another bedroom and ideally a bigger garden and had been actively house hunting since late 2020. We must have viewed no less than 25 houses. We lost a few in bidding wars, there was 1 good one that was offered to us but it was very early on in the process (before prices went crazy) and we were being a bit idealistic and turned that down. There was another one that we were commited to buy but survey returns with some concerns.. Now we are into March 2022, dh is still sharing office with ds's bedroom, spring is coming and we are still can't give the kids a bigger garden to play in..
I am getting very depressed and on different days will think of all the houses we missed and regret our decisions. The market has somewhat stalled over here, due to low stock. Dh thinks we should just extend and have started the planning permission. We can't change the garden size but at least the living space will improve.
How many of you are also in this situation? Is it too early to give up?
