Looking to move to the Colchester area anyone got any tips on areas that are nice and areas to avoid ?

Best estate agent to contact ?

Ideally we are looking for
Detached
Four bedrooms
Drive with garage
Walkable to the train station
We have 2 under 5 so decent schools near by

Budget max 600k

Seen a few we liked but a lot have been taken back off the market without being sold

Around Lexden road there are some lovely houses & decent school in Hamilton, also one slightly further away like St Johns, Prettygate. It's close to town centre too-walkable to the train station-although further than Marks Tey, but I'd prefer Lexden Road surroundings to there.

Seconding Lexden Road.

Doubt you'd get Lexden Road for 600k, most around there are upwards of 700k. There are a few roads off there with properties for around your budget but they're further from town and the station, although you could get a bus easily.

You would get Maldon Road and roads off it but again it's further from the station. You might have more luck going north from the station and away from the town.
