“Tide marks/damp”

Hi,

We completed on our house purchase on Friday,
I noticed the paint was darker at the bottom of the hall way wall next to the front door,
Didn’t think anything of it the time as we had a survey done,
Now the “tide mark”has gone higher an further around in 2 days!
Really annoying as the one thing we didn’t want is damp!
Outside no pipes,
Some mortar is missing?

What level survey did you get? Might be worth ringing your surveyor as if there's damp they should have spotted it as they damp test the walls usually :( They might be able to put you in touch with a local tradesman who can have a look.
