So I house I’m looking to buy one of the neighbours I bumped into at the weekend very helpfully informed me there is a historic leak.
Do I inform my solicitor about this and should I be asking that the owner pays the £1800 into the pot before I buy the house?

I really want the house I don’t want anything to go wrong.

Yes, I'd ask the current owners to pay that.

If you buy this I’d look at getting your own poly supply pipe in to your property ( you are responsible for this) if it’s lead look up your water companies policy on lead replacement. They’ll usually do their side free of charge.
