All going a bit wrong

We accepted offer from ftb on our house in October, our vendors going into rented.
By December we were almost ready to
Exchange coNtracts when vendor announced that they can't find any rental so are going to start looking at properties. Urgh. Tbf they have offered on a couple, one fell through on unavoidable legal issues. It's so discouraging, I though we have a dream chain but it's all gone wrong. My buyers have said they will wait so that's good, but it feels like life is on hold indefinitely.
Reassuring stories of long waits paying off gratefully received!

We are in the opposite position our buyers won't wait so be prepared to move out or lose the sale. I would keep looking at property we are going into my parents and booking other viewings ASAP

Honestly - if your vendor only started looking for properties to buy when you were close to exchange, I would start looking for an alternative property to buy immediately.

There are always rentals. They may be ugly or in a less than ideal location but it's not permanent. Choosing to buy because it would be quicker than finding a rental property is insane.

High risk your vendor is having you on and they don't really seriously intend to move.

I'd definitely be looking at other properties to buy if I were you...

Accepted an offer on our property in November, moved in to our purchase (simultaneous sale and purchase) in September. So 10 months total. Was fine. We just weren't prepared to buy any old place and then our vendors had a few issues to sort out do the whole thing took a while.

It's this house for us or no house. We only went on market because this house came up. So we have to either wait and hope or bail and I feel like we are all in to let it come to whatever natural conclusion it will come to.
Trying to be relaxed about it but it's hard to feel in limbo for months on end.
House buying in this country is such a ball ache!

Totally we aren't far south of the border and wish we were over it at the minute. Have you told your vendor you don't want to hang around much longer might focus their minds on what they are actually going to do
