Planning Permission

Hi!

Hoping for some wisdom.. Our architect is somewhat great but useless at admin. He's told us that he submitted planning permission for our rear extension last Friday but we haven't seen any concrete proof that this has actually happened. I've asked him a couple of times and he said he'll send it across but then doesn't.

My question... how long does it take before it would show up online as a live application so we can know it's there? Does this happen quickly?

Big thanks!

It won’t be “validated” until payment for the planning application has been received and the local authority has checked to see everything needed has been submitted. Once they’ve done this they will backdate it to the date it was submitted if everything is in order but until the local authority have done that, usually a week or two you won’t be able to see it online.

Presumably he gave you a reference for the application? If not, why not?
How did the planning fee get paid? Either he paid it and will invoice you, or you need to pay it otherwise nothing will ever happen.

And it will depend on your council how long it’ll take to appear online. Some are quicker than others. I’d expect 1-2weeks but possibly longer
