How much do you think this will cost?

Our fence has blown down in storm today! I’m not mad about it because it was on the list of things to get done this year anyway as they were looking dodgy.

Got a man coming to do a quote on Monday to do the fence and also some repairs to the small retaining wall (about 2 ft high) which was put in by the cowboy builder tenant who rented our house before we bought it, it as some of the top bricks are wobbly.

Our garden is small, about 45 square meters.

This is our first house and I haven’t had this sort of work done before. What would be a reasonable hall park?

Ball park, obviously!

Without the length of the fence impossible to say. Is it on all three sides and what style of fence?

Hi thanks for your reply. My garden is about 10x4m and we will be doing all three sides (one side has blown down and the other is a horrid picket fence we wanted rid of anyway, may as well do the whole thing!).

Probably 5ft fences, or 4ft fences on concrete blocks

Before you go ahead, is it definitely your fence within your boundary - check your title register and title plan - and please do speak with your next door and back neighbours.

We paid 3k for about 40m a few years ago, in south London. It looks similar to this: i.pinimg.com/originals/d2/44/8b/d2448b72971bb5505188114a371417d3.jpg

Wow £3k is a lot - more than I was expecting!

Concrete posts and gravels boards with 5ft panels costs us around £100 per metre about 5 years ago so would say more than that now... assuming yours is 24m I would think 3k ish... but in the next month or so it could be anything as there will be a huge shortage of panels and labour to fit them thanks to the storm
